YST@DLI - Youth Skills Training at the Department of Labor and Industry

Logo for Youth Skills Training at DLIYouth Skills Training at the Department of Labor and Industry (YST@DLI) supports the development and implementation of experiential learning opportunities for students 16 and older. These locally developed programs are implemented in cooperation with employers and schools. Youth Skills Training programs include both classroom instruction and paid part-time employment and are approved and monitored by DLI.

Five partnerships awarded new Youth Skills Training Grants

Grant timeline (second round)

  • Sept. 21, 2018: Letter of intent opens
  • Oct. 5, 2018: Letter of intent due
  • Oct. 8, 2018: Grant application opens
  • Nov. 2, 2018: Grant applications due
  • Dec. 14, 2018: Grants awarded
  • July 1, 2019: Grant contracts begin
  • July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2021: Grant period

Requirements for YST@DLI program approval

Please complete and submit the following information to become an approved YST@DLI program. The program must be approved by DLI prior to students starting paid work experience.
