Workers' compensation -- Training for rehabilitation providers

Orientation training sessions -- Aug. 24, 2017

The 2017 orientation session is for rehabilitation providers seeking basic vocational rehabilitation skills training. The orientation session is required for qualified rehabilitation (QRC) interns, is encourages for QRC intern supervisors and is open to all rehabilitation providers seeking additional training and skills enhancement.

All participants must pre-register; the cost is $75, which includes lunch and materials. Early online registration is encouraged because the session is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. CRC/CDMS -- CEUs will be available.

The training session is from 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at the Department of Labor and Industry, 443 Lafayette Road N., St. Paul, MN  55155 (see maps, get directions).

Registration, license numberRegistration and payment

All participants must register and pay online. When registering, for the required field "License number":

  • QRCs should enter their QRC number (for example 313); and
  • placement vendors or staff members from QRC firms
    should enter their four-digit firm number (for example 1001).

Early registration is encouraged. The session is limited to 30 people. The class will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The Department of Labor and Industry reserves the right to cancel this session if there are not enough participants registered.

Rehabilitation provider update conference -- Sept. 18, 2018

Attendance and participation in the rehabilitation provider update conference session is required of all qualified rehabilitation consultants (QRCs) and QRC interns. Registered job placement vendors must have at least one representative from their organization participate. Nonattendance may be allowed only for emergency situations (Minnesota Rules 5221.1500, subp. 3a). Otherwise, nonparticipation in the provider update may result in professional conduct and accountability discipline.

Notices will be mailed in July 2018. Registration will be done via DLI's website with payment by credit card to attend in-person or via WebEx using the provider's personal computer and a special access code. Seating at the conference is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration will be open from July 16 to Aug. 31, 2018. No change in the selection of in-person or electronic attendance will be accepted after Aug. 31, 2018.

Date, location
The 2018 rehabilitation provider update will be offered live at the University of Minnesota -- Continuing Education and Conference Center, St. Paul campus, and via WebEx streaming that same day. For rehabilitation providers unable to participate that day, a WebEx stream will be made available only from Sept. 20 through Oct. 13, 2018. CRC/CDMS -- CEUs will be available to participants for those dates only.
